🧬 Blood Type Inheritance Calculator
Select parents' blood types to check possible blood types and probabilities for children. Based on Mendel's laws of inheritance for ABO blood type system.

Select father's and mother's blood types below, and the system will automatically calculate possible blood types and probabilities for their children:
📖 ABO Blood Type Inheritance Rules
The ABO blood type system is determined by three alleles: A, B, and O. The inheritance follows these rules:
- Type A: Genotypes AA or AO
- Type B: Genotypes BB or BO
- Type AB: Genotype AB
- Type O: Genotype OO
- A and B are dominant over O; A and B are codominant
- Children inherit one allele from each parent
ℹ️ This tool is based on classical Mendelian inheritance rules. There are rare exceptions like cis-AB blood types.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
If both parents have Type O blood (OO × OO), children can only have Type O blood, with 100% probability.
If parents have genotypes AO and BO respectively, all four blood types are possible. If parents are AA and BB, children can only have Type AB.
No. Children of AB × OO parents can only be Type A (AO) or Type B (BO), each with 50% probability.
